Syntrillium Software's Cool Edit Pro 2.0 is the ultimate advanced version of Cool Edit 2000, a hugely popular downloadable program that costs only $69. Cool Edit Pro 2.0 is an extensive recording, editing, mixing and processing package supporting 24-bit audio files at 192 kHz and higher sample rates. It features over 45 DSP effects (six new ones in this version), 128 audio tracks, 32-bit processing, multi-level undo and redo, Direct-X plug-in support, loop based song creation, real-time effects and real-time EQ on each track. You can download the beta plug-in for disk-at-once CD burning and add their USB-based Red Rover remote controller unit that works like a tactile tape recorder transport remote only with extra controls for adding cues "on-the fly", solo, mute, arm record and metronome on/off.
Additional program features include support for MIDI playback, MTC/SMPTE master or slave, data analysis and more.
